jurors when you return from lunch. What I am going to do 
now is give you what is called preliminary instructions.

You have been selected and sworn as the 
jury to try the case of the State of Florida versus 
Robert Minton. This is a criminal case, as you know. 
This Defendant has been charged with battery, as we have 
already told you. The definition of the elements of this 
crime will be explained to you later. It is your solemn 
responsibility to determine if the State has proven its 
accusation beyond a reasonable doubt against, this 
defendant.
